Statement of our Fee Policy

Important Notice: Our fees and billings are changing

The Doctors at Norwest Central Healthcare will be changing the current billing policy to keep up with the costs of providing a high-quality healthcare service.

This transition from Bulk-billing to Mixed Billing will be effective from Monday 8th April, 2024.

Under the new mixed billing system, patients will be charged an out-of-pocket fee for certain medical services, while some services will still be bulk-billed. The fee charged will depend on the type of service provided (including face to face and Telehealth consultations) and your eligibility for Medicare benefits.

We will still Bulk-bill:

  • Pension/Healthcare Card Holders
  • Children under 16 years
  • All patients over 70 years of age
  • Eligible DVA Card holders (Gold and white – according to the condition)
  • Health assessments, Chronic Management Plans, Mental Health Plans
  • Recalls – tests we arrange after an initial consultation
  • Flu and covid- vaccinations
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients

Since opening in May 2022, our mission has always been to build a general practice that can deliver affordable, compassionate and professional care in a state-of-the-art space with a focus on enhancing every patient’s health journey. Unfortunately, the Medicare rebates do not reflect the true cost of delivering this best standard of care to our patients, making the Bulk-billing system no longer sustainable.

Full payment is required on the day of your consultation, and when EFTPOS is used, your Medicare rebate can be repaid instantly into your bank account.

Our reception team will be able to assist you with any queries you may have regarding the change.

The team at NCHC extend our thanks and gratitude for your support of our practice and look forward to continuing our relationship with you into the future.

Our fee schedule for common consultations will be as follows:

Telehealth Consultation fees:

NOTE: To obtain the maximum rebate for Telehealth you must be registered with MyMedicare.

If you do not have have a current Medicare Card, you are responsible for payment of fees and services on the day of your appointment.
