Dr Smitha Sarpamalay

General Practitioner

About Dr Smitha

Dr Smitha has been practicing medicine for over 17 years, with extensive experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. She completed her postgraduate training in O&G in India before moving to Australia and embarking on a new adventure in General Practice.

Dr Smitha has embraced this new career path by gaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, completing a Diploma in O&G and even obtaining a Diploma in Child Health with the Sydney Children's Hospital Network.

She takes a holistic approach to all patient care, regardless of age, gender or abilities and offers a range of GP services including chronic disease management, mental health, preventative health and minor skin procedures. Her compassionate, warm and down-to-earth nature stands out in all her interactions with her patients.

With a special interest and expertise in Women's Health, Dr Smitha offers antenatal care, assistance with many aspects of reproductive health, sexual and adolescent health, contraceptive choices (including intrauterine device and implanon insertions) and menopause management.

Outside of her life as a doctor, Dr Smitha is busy chasing after her little one, getting out into nature and is known to explore any new and challenging treks. She’s not afraid to kick off her hiking boots for dance shoes, so look out for her funky dance moves in our corridor!

We are very excited to welcome Dr Smitha to the NCHC Team.
